Sale bump on this bass this week only I will do 700 shipped. Best deal on the forum right now, will do trades

Just got this 5501 on the forum. It's great playing & great sounding. I've just decided to get another Lakland DJ5 or maybe a Nordy VJ5.

Modded and hotrodded w/ Bartolini MK5s and NTMB 5.2 AP preamp. Also sports 55-02 knobs which make it easier to see where the controls are.

Bass is in great shape - no dings or scratches. Weighs just over 9 1/4 lbs. Comes with nicely padded gig bag.

    Pics here:

Sound clip posted further down in the thread.

    $750 shipped CONUS

Will now consider 5 string basses with great B strings and 19mm spacing. Nordy VJ5 modern is on my list, etc. I trade up, you trade down.

Also interested in is a TC electronic BH250 or BG250 plus cash on your end, will consider a GK 700rb II, or 1001rb II, or a GK Neo 2x12. Maybe even a Micro head, Make me a trade offer all I can say is I'll pass.

Hmm, I have no experience with the MK5s, any thoughts regarding the tone? I imagine you can shape alot with the active EQ. Lately been more of a P/J/Ray guy but would love a plex'd 35" scale 5er.

This is the 2nd 5501 I've had w/ American MK5 barts. The lows and low mids are great. More warmth than the standard MK1, way more clarity and bottom. The Bart pre w/ active/passive is a nice combination.

Very nice! I'm about to put in MK5's in mine. Already installed the Bart 5.2AP preamp.

These are great basses for the price. Especially with these electronics.
