Once again putting my killer LB76F on the trade block. It's easily one of the finest instruments I've ever owned, but right now I need something different. I'm looking to swap it for the right Precision, Jazz, or Stratocaster. Bass comes in the original hardshell case and is wearing well-worn D'Addario half-rounds.

EDIT: I'll sell it for $800 plus shipping to the lower 48.

-34" scale, yet the B is flawless
    -1.6cm string spacing
    -Swamp ash body
    -One-piece maple neck
    -Flame koa top
    -Matching flame koa headstock!
    -Oil finish
    -Black ebony fingerboard
    -Carvin J/J pickups and piezo
    -Icon preamp
    -Strung with unknown groundwounds
-Comes with OHSC! (G&G vintage-style Carvin case)

It's in near-perfect condition with only some minor worming near the output jack. Top, neck, and headstock are free of blemishes. The jack was toast when I received the bass, but I replaced it and it now works fine. The unlined ebony fingerboard is in great shape with only faint string marks. There is a slight buzz on the low F# on the E string, but it isn't present enough to be heard through the amp. Case is in excellent condition.

String spacing is 1.6cm. Additional pics are in the thread I linked.

I'd sell it outright for $800 plus shipping to the lower 48.

    Absolutely beautiful Carvin!

I have become hooked on hard finished lined fingerboards for my fretless basses (love using rounds). I sure do miss the look, however, of that pure black matte ebony fingerboard. Just strings on wood. So clean. It looks absolutely stunning with that flamed Koa top and headstock!

My Carvins each have amazing and very unique tone but I battle with neck stability. They are like living, breathing, objects. Very temperamental with changes to the environment but so darned sweet when they are right. I have many many very stable high end basses but I keep using my Carvins because the tone is so so rich. They are worth the work and truly amazing for what they cost. GREAT choices on the woods BTW. Swamp ash, maple and Koa are made for that fretless Mwaah tone. So sweet and growly!

How would you characterize the stability of the single piece neck in this baby? What is the condition of the truss rod and neck (1 being shot and 10 being perfect)?

Honestly, it's a 10. The action is perfect and the neck is near-straight with only slight relief, making it super fun for fast lines and chordal work. It stays in tune for weeks, which is incredible considering I live in Michigan. On that note, I've only adjusted the truss rod once since getting the bass over a year ago. It's stable for sure.

Hmmmmm...thinking thinking thinking....if it didn't have that pesky 6th string, I would have already bought this.

Is the bass you are looking for fretted or fretless? I have a very nice 1993 American Deluxe Jazz fretless in Ice Blue Metallic available.
