So... I saved this beautiful bass from Guitar Center 2 weeks ago. I thought it was going to be my forever bass. I have always wanted a Warwick and a Modulus and when I stumbled across this guy on black friday, it was all I could think about until I gave in and went back Monday and purchased it.

1996 German Warwick Masterman Fortress Wenge French Violet
    Comes with Epiphone Hard Case.

    The Good
    • Double Preamp
    • Amazing Woody Midrangy Piano Tone
    • Wenge

    The Bad
    1. Some nicks and dings due to age
    2. a little chunk off the back of the headstock
    3. a little ding at the top of the neck where the neck meets the headstock
    4. 1 snagy fret where on the bottom side where the wenge has worn a little

Not mint but in pretty damn good shape for being a '96. There one on Ebay for $800 with a Buy It Now of $1250 and mine is in way better condition. It has nicks and scratches "Roadworn" but they are greatly enhanced by the direct light in the photos.

But it really plays like a dream and sounds AMAZING. The problem is the neck is a little small for my hands, and there are 24 frets and it is hard to back and forth from a precision to this. I am 6' 4" and am a Precision neck guy. I am still on the fence, but wanted to see if there was any interest.

    My Short List:
    Gold Jack Casady
    1976 Precision
Gretch Electromatic (the orange GC one)
    Natural Ibanez Blazer
    Alesis Multimix 16 USB
    Bill Fitzmaurice Tuba
    Lakland Hollowbody

Or would be interested in anything cool and funky with a 1.625 or bigger nut. 4 string. Fretted No jazz widths please.

G & L? Lakland? Ric Clone? Plywood Upright? Brubaker Brute (are those 1.5"?), EBMM S.U.B, Beat up Bongo.....

I think I could sell it outright w. the brand new Dunlop straplocks (they are recessed) for $800 shipped OBO.

So I took these in direct sunlight and they REALLY show dust and scratches really brightly. Most of the imperfections are not really visible from more than a foot away. I just wanted to detail that this is NOT a perfect collectors piece as accurately as I could.

So this looks like a crack or a repair but it is just a ding with a scratch.

Wow, I love the look of this thing. Huge Warwick fan and absolutely love the Fortress. I just never play 4's anymore...I'm definitely thinking hard on this one though.

Had the neck checked out. It is indeed not a crack and he said not to worry about it. Got this bass set up and it plays wonderful.

Thinking it might stay with me.
