I keep going back and forth on whether or not I want to part with this. I have a pristine Carvin B50, all passive with quiet H50A pickups, trans green with an all maple neck. It is a gorgeous instrument as you can see in the photos. It comes with a Carvin case that is also in like new condition. I bought this for a roots reggae project that required that I play 5 string. I'm no longer involved with that project and I'm not a big 5 stringer otherwise. I really like this bass, but it sits way underplayed in its case, and comes out for only the rarest occasions, which usually means me trying to convince myself that I need a 5 string. I have recorded, but never gigged with it. The weight is just over 9 lbs (the Carvin website says 9.25 lbs and that feels right to me) and the string spacing is 19mm or just under 3/4".

I would trade it for an Fender Jazz Bass four string of equal value, especially an American Special. I’d also consider trading it for another Carvin (four string) in similar condition or other Jazz style basses. Any deal could include cash in either direction depending on what you have.

Of course I will also entertain cash offers. I'm looking for in the ballpark of $[DEL]675[/DEL] $625 shipped CONUS only. PM me with any interest.

I'm surprised what little attention this has gotten. Price too high? No trade interest? It's a really nice bass. Very well constructed, gorgous color scheme, sounds fantastic. Hmmmm, I may just keep it after all.

I'd still trade it for a Jazz Bass though.
