This is THE Lakland Joe Osborne used to record the Chisonic sound clips on the Lakland website and it is the first Lakland JO with Chisonics. I could be wrong, but I believe these are the first Chis made in this type of casing. Originally owned by Ian Allison, I bought it from LPCarter, who bought it from Ian. I really do not want to do this, but I sorta want to test the waters to see what is out there. Here are the soundclips: http://www.lakland.com/ac_j-sonic.htm I am in need of a good active Jazz bass. I have a Valenti on order, but due to certain circumstances it will be a little longer than I anticipated. I have several amazing passive Js in my arsenal and this is the only one that was not "built for me," also, the only one without a matching headstock... I honestly love this bass, but tried it with a preamp and it was not really what I am looking for. The Chis sound better passive (IMO). This bass is literally one of a kind because it has the prototype Chis in it, I have owned other basses with Chis, and these are different, straight up. I have 4 different PGs for this bass, the white it came with, matte black, black silver sparkle and a gold sparkle (sorta stripper thong gold). I also have the original Lakland case and all the candy that goes with it. What I am looking for: A Boutique Active Jazz-style bass, like a Nordy, Valenti, etc. We can do + or - cash either way for the right deal. Preferably in a bright color with a matching headstock. I might also consider another Lakland JO in a pastel color that I can drop a J-retro into. I would prefer a full size J body, but will not rule out a dinky if the bass is right. I am not really interested in Sadowsky either, just not my thing. I might entertain selling for $2200 shipped CONUS.
