Black/Tort/Rosewood. Jazz profile neck. 1 1/2" nut. John East 2 band preamp. Nordy MM4 pickup. Mint condition. Comes in ohsc with paperwork. Includes original 3 band preamp, pickup and black pickguard. Weighs 9lbs 2oz.
You cannot buy a 2 band preamp Stingray with a jazz profile neck from EBMM....here's you chance to own one in pristine condition plus it's relatively light weight for an American made Ray.
For sale only....$1275. Plus actual shipping in conus.
Email mccartynorris@ hotmail.com for more high res pics.

A great bass at a great price, and a chance to try this with a Nordy or change back to the Original EB set up? ...Now that's an awesome deal!

I've been looking at switching to a nordy and maybe a john east preamp in my stingray. How would you describe the difference?

Check out the sticky note under the "pickups and preamps" forum listed as "musicman sounds".
Mostly, the John East 2 band preamp does away with the "high mid clank" that nearly all 3 band EBMM preamps have. It really smooths out the lows and rounds off the highs.

Yea I'm fairly certain that he uses the schematic and values from the 2 band but with more elite quality components. The end result is it sounds like a 2 band stingray. Less clank. ... more great tone. Arguably with the je one having less hiss.... but my 2 band mm preamps are hiss free anyhow.

It amused me to read of a guy who replaced the 2 band mm pre in his top of the line classic with the je 2 band pre. I guess marketing can still convince people that they hear a difference where there isn't any :)

But je makes as ideal of a 2 band as you can get considering mm won't sell theirs separately.

Make me an offer. I'm off all week and can ship anytime. I could still use a 5 string in trade.

gotta ask what may be a dumb question... but im confused..
The thread title says "FT" (for trade) but the listing says "for sale only"....
which is it? im guessing the title is a typo or outdated?

either way, great bass and good luck!!

I like everything about this bass . Plan to add a 'Ray to the collection but Christmas and vehicle repairs won 't allow it to be @ this time . Good looking healer too . Mine passed 3 years ago from cancer . One of the best dogs I ever had .
