Most of the time I am just improvising on the fly. When I do noodle around on songs I do like to play Wrathchild or Genghis Khan by Iron Maiden or Day Tripper by the Beatles.

I also like "I Wish" and "Sir Duke" by Stevie Wonder. I'm not yet ready to do the buzzsaw vibrato on the former, but it's still a blast.

With my rock band, there are the Chili Peppers tunes: Aeroplane, Other Side, Californication. I also like Slither by Velvet Revolver and Mudshovel by Staind because I get to play with a pick.

Ive played these songs in a couple bands and they are always fun songs to play for an audience. Easy enough that you can have fun just jamming on them but not so easy that they get boring.

I'm not really into this type of Music , BUT these are great and fun to play Basslines! That's the great thing about the Bass, it has opened up a whole new genre of music for me to explore.
