    Hey All,

I have an 83 El Toro that I can't pinpoint the color. Candy Lemon, Metallic Gold or maybe a Shoreline Gold. I have not seen another El Toro like it. Any help would be apprecited!

    Nice bass there!

Could it be Pearl White with a "patina" ?
  5. Agreed, 100%.

Thanks Match! It's not white....I'll try to post another pic to capture the color more accurately.

That doesn't look like an aged white of any kind; much more like Shoreline Gold.

I've never seen one that color, that's absolutely excellent!

Thanks all! Yeah I'm leaning towards the Shoreline gold. This is the bass that started my G&L addiction. Traded a no name acoustic bass, Washburn 5 string and an Applause acoustic bass at a local Pawn. I think I did well:) Love my Toro!

Shoreline is usually a little less gold than that. More silvery.

Being a Saints fan, I love that color. I think it may be their old metallic gold. Which is much better looking than the new Yukon Gold Metallic which is really nasty.

I think those were the only "gold" color options at that time. I may have to pull the neck off......go Saints!

In that pic it def looks like Gold. G&L made some very limited color offereings over the years, many seldom seen. There were Interceptors painted in various two-tone configs, for example.

I've seen at least one gold L-2000 e-series (bdgotoh?). And I recently talked to a store in Austin about a '81 L-1000, supposedly in original gold finish.

This was my Climax. The only "Goldburst" G&L I've seen to date.

Dunno, maybe initials of the builder or the intended color abbreviation - that Toro looks Greenish Gold!

Probably stands for Gold "on" Gold, ie matching headstock.
