genz benz repair in l.a. area

    hey folks,

    my gb shuttlemax 12.0 is in need of help.

    there are a bunch of repair service places in the l.a. area, but i'd like to get some feedback from people who have had their gb stuff fixed by some of them. (i'm a believer that not all repair joints are the same—fer instance, i don't like the one closest to me at all.)

    I can always handle your repair (either in or out of warranty) up here in N. CA.

    I'd like to know too. My GB SHEN-CKP-10T acoustic amp just started acting up. I bought it from HelloMusic.com which I don't think is an authorized retailer so it may not be under warranty.

    lights are on, but no one is home.

    chronologically: this had happened once at home once or twice. but a quick off/on of the power switch seemed to make it okay (thought it might've had dirt or dust in the switch). until . . . i got to a rehearsal and no nothing. took it home, popped the hood to see if there was anything obvious and there wasn't. turned it on . . and it worked. left it up for a while and it sounded great. turned it off and went back the next day . . . nope.

    so those are the symptoms . . .

    so i figure i need to get it gone over.

    it's out of warranty (i got it used, from someone who didn't seem to be a beater). and i rolled the pre tube at one point, but did it gently :)

    Does it exhibit the same symptoms on the FET and Tube channels?

    First thing to try is cycling the master effects return jack as well as the channel effects return jacks with a 1/4" plug. See if this takes care of your problem. If that's not it, PM me and I will get this resolved for you. No worries.

    What are the symptoms? Let's start with identifying what's wrong and then I will get this sorted out for you. Shouldn't be difficult.

    Amp: SHEN-CKP-10T
    Condition: Almost new. I love and baby this amp! :)
    Problem: The effects channel stopped working. All effects knobs all the way up and no change in sound.

    Thanks in advance for any suggestion. This is such a well made amp that it could just be me overlooking something very obvious.

    Try cycling a plug into the effect cancel jack first (unlikely but possible), otherwise it's possible that you have a defective dsp module. Pm me if the effects cancel jack doesn't fix the problem and I will get this resolved for you.

    I tried the effects cancel jack and even checked it with a footswitch hoping that it would magically just pop back on but nothing. What's my next step?
