George Shuffler, a multi-instrumentalist bluegrass great that played with the Stanley Brothers passed away yesterday. His guitar playing was really cool:

    RIP George.

George Shuffler was the greatest guy, a fine musician, but an even finer family man who always had a smile on his face.

Here's a clip, showing George and his bass playing abilities, which, in my opinion, were phenomenal.

A lot of his generation have been leaving us lately- many of the local heroes that we thought were going to be around forever. I think it is safe to say he had a good run of it and is probably catching up with a number of old friends. Rest in peace George.
