I have found (one of) my dream basses, and need to make room for it, so time to sell this one...

Nice bass, in excellent condition, just slightly less than mint... Quilted maple top on maple body, birdseye maple neck with rosewood board. There are no flaws big enough to photograph but it has been played. Virtually no fret wear. GHS Boomers (45-130) have maybe 6 hours play time, and there's a new set of DR Hi-Beams I tried but didn't care for to go with it. Hardshell case is very nice too, good latches, no rips in tolex, no cat hair or ciggy smoke inside.

I don't know much about the electronics, but when I got the bass they had been upgraded with active Bartolini equipment. (battery is under the pickguard) Controls are wired Volume - Pan - Stacked Tone, which allows for a wide tonal range. The P is thumpy, and the J is twangy. High mass bridge, top or rear load option.

The bad news - It's heavy. I'll weigh it tomorrow at work but I'll tell you now it's heavy. I'm guessing 10lb+.

The good news - it's a really nice bass, plays like a dream and sounds great. Fit and finish (IMO) are better than a MIM Fender, even kinda' boutique-y, and for less money.

(Now $350 plus 1/2 price shipping in CONUS)

Thanks! They really are well-made basses with great value, and I wouldn't part with this one if it weren't being replaced with a bass I've wanted for years.

That said, I'm probably going to close a deal for it tomorrow, and will begin entertaining offers on this one.

Here's a picture of the bridge:

Weighed by company nurse... 10.5 lbs. Not as heavy as I thought... maybe I need more gym time and less thump time. :D

    Company nurse agrees. :(

    Today's bump...

Now accepting offers, no trades please, since I just need to offset the cost of another bass purchase.

    Questions anyone?

Today's bump, and thanks for the offers fellas... I'll leave this one up a little longer. I'd like to see it go to someone else, but won't be terribly sorry to keep it either. ;)

This is a mighty nice bass and a good value. A local player yesterday commented about the remarkable sustain and powerful low B string.

    Hi EoH,
I live in Christiansburg and am interested in your SD5. Is this the one that's on consignment at Fretmill? I'd like to see it this weekend if possible. Brad
