Godzilla roar is actually a leather glove being dragged down the strings of a bass.

This is true. In fact, many of roars of various Toho creatures were made by musical instruments by composer Akira Ifukube (Rodan's original cackle was aspen up cello done in a somewhat similar fashion and Anguirus was a saxophone mixed with a few other things, to name a few). As a Godzilla fan, I always found it interesting that what gave him his thunderous voice was a bass.

A link to the actual roars (the ones in the first link were altered a bit.

They really seem to be working with the fans, so I have good expectations (the creature design isn't my first choice, but the story looks good so far and Bryan Cranston's character seems interesting). Can't be as bad as that turd from '98.

I agree with you about the creature design and I didn't like any of the movies from the 90's I think they all are bad even though I continue to watch them. :) nothing beats the movies from the 60's.
