I traded in my yamaha rbx375 for a dean 'edge 4' the store tells me.

Hmm...it's used, got no markings on it other than a chinese serial number which the best I can find says it was made in 2008.

It's got 21 frets and all the edge models have 24.
It has the same 4 knobs as the Edge series.
It has gold hardware like the jeff berlin, but too many knobs.
It has a quilted top which edges don't have from what I've seen.
maple one piece neck, bolted, rosewood fingerboard.
ducktail headstock with horizontal dean name.
    grover tuners.
two soapbars, active, no markings so that rules out some models.
it's missing the cover plate over the truss rod access hole.

I'll try and get some pics on here later today.

Methinks that in their haste, the store probably mislabeled it. It’s likely not an Edge, but rather a Jeff Berlin Basic Player.

    Oh, you're GOOD!
    That is exactly it.

    Thanks.

Now...is it any good? (in the big picture).
this particular one is fine - quite pots, low action, no buzz, perfect finish.
