I can't remember where I saw this I just had it saved in my pics but I want it.
Looks to me like this is an ash body fender jazz but I've had a look online and can't find an ash body, maple neck, 5 string fender jazz that ain't a marcus miller or an American deluxe which u can tell this aint. Please help me find some of these beauts.

that is one of the older American deluxe basses. the controls and controls plate have been swapped out. probably pre-'08 due to the low-mass dual bridge.

I'll guess post 98. It has the 22 fret AMDLX5 neck but not the Suhr electronics.

Yeah but they don't seem to make this bass (5 string deluxe) (or mabye standard 5 string) in this colour. (Anymore?)

Correct. Fender re-launched the American Deluxe bass line around 2009, and that line has changed very little since then. The bass you posted is from between roughly 1999 and 2009, and when this model was relaunched cherry burst was no longer a finish option. Like others have mentioned the on board preamp seems to have been swapped out. But the neck, inlays and logo say that this is an American Deluxe Jazz bass 5 string from between 99 & '09.

The closest color to cherry burst that's currently being offered is one from Fenders American Design Experience. But that finish option is opaque, and not the transparent color that you posted.

Mine is a 2005 American deluxe Jazz 5 ash in cherry burst with a PF board, with an after market pick guard, Bart's and a John East deluxe preamp. ...

I think the one shown by the OP might be a pre 2005. It's not an impossible color to find but I haven't seen many with the maple board.

Lovely looking basses and close to what I'm looking for. So unless I can find one on eBay or something it looks like I'm gunna have to look at getting a natural fender jazz deluxe 5 string and get it refinished in a cherry burst.
