Well I came across these pictures of houses made by the Japanese designer Toshikazu Tsukii who used retired Boeing airliners and made them into luxury homes.

What you see here are the tail section of a Boeing 727, a 707 fuselage sliced in half and both halves spliced and stacked on top of each other and to complete the picture, the cockpit section of a 737.

So let's take a look inside shall we?

Two stories and note how the tables are made from wing pieces and air intakes from the jet engines.

The second floor, note that the balcony rail is a wing aileron.

    Here's the bedroom

That's looking pretty awesome doesn't it?

Well just wait till you see THIS...
What we have here is the fuselage of a Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet.

and what do we find when looking inside?

I'd love to go swimming there.

Tubey goodness? Clever but aren't tube homes high maintenance and heavy? Are they self-biasing?

The heating bill would be off the chart here in the northeast.
Digging that indoor pool, however- I'd build a zip line over her and a high dive platform welded to the ceiling!!!

Wasn't there a story somewhere that mentioned that Bruce Campbell had one of these types of homes? Between airplane and shipping container homes, people are finding some interesting uses for things that would otherwise sit and rot.

    I'll take mine from an Antonov 225. That's a 747 behind it. ImageUploadedByTalkBass1396682133.065509.jpg

That actually can be arranged, Antonov was supposed to start a production series of the 225 but thanks to the fall of the iron Curtain and the dissolving of the Soviet Union that never came to be.

Antonov had started building a second 225 but it was never finished and to this day it remains at their factory grounds.

They say that with any good offer, they'll be happy to sell it to you.

As for how you want it get out of there is the real question though...

Cool idea. I think mine would be a hammock under a hang glider, though.

Sure, not as big as that Antonov abomination, but it's big enough for the likes of me.

I have wanted an airplane house for years! I can't find a junk airplane for sale, though.

Black laboratories are harder to do nefarious experiments in.
