Hello all. I posted this last night also, and got one comment saying to use tung oil. Is this correct or not? All advice is greatly appreciated. I am LOVING my new pentabuzz :)

And is tung oil a protector? Or just a cleaner? Thanks TB

What kind of finish is on the fingerboard of your bass? That is the first thing we need to know in order for us to advise you on what to use.

Ebony with polyester ( glass type ) finish. What they are known for.

Tung oil would be useless on that. For cleaning naphtha works great, beyond that you really don't have to do anything to it. I wouldn't wax/polish it as that stuff would get on/into your strings.

  7. Do not put tung oil on the fingerboard. It's coated, like you said, in a hard polyester finish. If you want to clean it, you can you a non abrasive paste wax.

I have always liked the tone of fretless Pedulla basses; I am a big fan of Mark Egan.

I cannot express how much I am in love with this bass. More than my Zon I think.

I have owned a couple ZON fretless basses, those were great, too.

For years I played a Pedulla Buzz as my main. I used to just keep a clean rag in the case, and just give it a good wipe down after a show. Loosen the strings, slide them out of the way, clean up, and then retune. No fuss.
