I just put a new pick guard on a fender p-bass deluxe, passive VVT. Now when I touch the tone knob, there is a loud buzz/hum. Did I break the ground wire solder? (This bass was my first and only pick up installation - so I am sure the joints weren't that solid to begin with) thanks for the help!

Well, something happened and it certainly appears to be a ground compromise. If unsure, a decent tech can locate & repair in no time.
