    Yeah, yeah, stickers too.....:D
The EQ knobs are from WWII tank radio, the big guy is from a ham radio.

I am totally all about the chicken heads. (which I didn't realise they were called until someone called them that on here).

Its nice to be able to 'feel' where they are at easily. 'Pointed right up for this tone' and so on.

I like those! Those look like vintage old-school chicken heads with the collar at the bottom. I have some like that on another bass. And yes, I like them for the visual orientation effect - I set mine so the detent point (midpoint of travel) places them straight at the bridge like in my pic, volume is full on when pointed at headstock. :bassist:

Thanks, I did have these chicken heads pictured below on it until a week ago. Then I stumbled across those much nicer ones at my local Hackspace (We actually have a small crate just full of potentiometer knobs).

I like the old style with the bottom skirt as they are less likely to catch o your hand if you reach down for a quick partial turn.

Admittedly the ones I just put on are pretty pointy and I may regret them. I too have a small bin of strange knobs. Just put some different knobs on my Ampeg SVT7 - darn pointers were just too hard to see in many light conditions.

I had chicken head knobs on my P bass for quite a while. You guys both have really cool knobs.
I'm going to love this thread.

I totally let out a little squeal when I found the old style ones. I enjoyed the previous ones, but these are just a complete cut above.

Its a shame we only have two people posting photos of their knobs so far though. :(

Eh, seems most people don't care or won't bother. And listening for adjustment is not an option imo once ear fatigue sets in.

I'd like to see your whole bass - that pickguard is radical!!

These are recording console knobs (service extras) from a Quad 8 Coronado console, had to drill them bigger to fit...

Here's what the console looked like...

I've got some Rogan knobs that I've used on modular stuff, probably hard to see here, look at the top middle modules, would be fun to put 'em on a bass...

I worked at Firey Bros Music in Tulsa in high school. While I was there, someone released a line of Star Wars helmet knobs. I wish I'd gotten the Boba Fett one now. Just plain stock knobs for me :(

Sure, here it is before the new chicken heads.

And here it is with the much nicer chicken heads, a pattern inserted behind the pick guard and a new strap.

I rebuilt, repainted and fixed the whole thing up from scratch, including finishing the fretless conversion properly.

I posted it on here a while back - http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f18/tortured-fender-p-bass-repair-1006381/

You may notice an extra flip switch on the control cavity, you will have to go browse the original thread to find out what it does :)

I'm not sure if these fall under the category of strange, but I do find them interesting.
They are used dice from the craps table a Las Vegas casino. The company that makes them buys them from the casino after they "retire" the dice from the playing tables.

You can then ask for the dice to made into a knob with either a flat side showing (as mine are), in which case you can request which specific number(s) you want on top, or you can have them drilled out at one of the points, so the die (dice) look like they are standing on end.

After drilling them out so that they an slip over shaft of the pot, they also drill out a hole and install a set screw to lock them down.
