I want to get an audio set up that can sync with my video to do a better job for future clips.

I'm looking to record jams or grooves with jams. The next video will be much more groove oriented with some jamming/embellishment.

Can you guys and gals give me honest feedback on all aspects of this kind of thing?

Oh, I guess you tubes don't work on this site?

Guess this attempt to get some advice won't work.

What effect are you playing through? Try it dry and then through the chorus/flanger or whatever it is.

I'm using a MXR Micro chorus for most of the song. The other pedal I throw on is a bassballz. The audio is terrible. I need to get a dat recorder and sync it with my iPad video?

The funky little door is the fuse box.

Sad but true. It's an eye sore.

DAT? Do they even use that anymore? You need video editing software.
    Record video
Record audio on your computer or iPad
Sync in software (start both audio & video recording, then do a hand clap right at the camera. It will be easy to sync since it's so easy to see and hear)

Advice? Point the camera down a little bit. You've got a lot of ceiling in the shot and only part of the bass.
You'll probably get more responses in the Recordings forum

I don't know a thing about recording. What you said sounds legit. I'm gonna go check that out.

I agree about the angle. I'm gonna do something about that. I used my music stand to hold up the iPad. Next time I need to angle it better with something else.

I need more gear though right? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I need something to mix with right?

Man, I feel like the answer is already in your post.

I will look more in depth at what you said and hope that google can help me understand.

Let's step back for a second, what exactly did you use to create the video? Both the audio and the video portions...

I recorded with an iPad 4 in video mode. Just uploaded it to you tube from the iPad.

How did you record the audio, just with the built in mic on the iPad and playing through your amp?

The built in mic on the iPad. It's real raw. I would love to get a D.I. in the computer kind of sound. Maybe that would be lame though.

    You would definitely know better.

Grab an Apogee Jam and download the JamUp XT app. The sound quality is very good.

Awesome. Thanks for the good advice. That sounds very simple and cost effective.
