Identify this Gibson Bass

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by ba55i5t, Nov 17, 2013.

  1. Hey TB,

Was just wondering if you could help a member out with identifying this bass. I can't find a serial number on it, and I can see that it's got an early Gibson SG bass style.

    Thanks,

That's a modified Gibson SB-300. If it's long scale, it's an SB-400, but it looks short to me.

If the S/N still remains it should be on the back at the very top of the headstock, stamped into the wood.

It looks like a very early version of an EB3. They changed a little over the years, I'm not certain, but it very well could be an early EB3 design.
