    on the front of my amp (Ampeg B-25B), is that small patch cord in my signal path? I'm connecting Normal 1 and bright 2 and running through the "normal" 2. I just don't want a nice signal going through great cables and pedals ending at a 3 inch $2.00 cable.

    It's a good question. First thought is, yes it is. But after thinking it over, it may be like inserting a switch inside the jacks, meaning it *may* work if the cable wasn't even there, just the 2 plugs. But then again, maybe not.
