New Year's Day. What basses do you own right now, and how many of them were in the stable a year ago today?

    For me:
    1982 Fender "Fullerton" '57 Reissue
    1966/67 Fender Coronado II
    No-name upright
    (Incoming: 1983 Fender P)
(Under construction: gold sparkle P Bass with a mudbucker)

As of this time last year, the only ones I owned were the Fullerton '57 and the upright. Everything else comes and goes.

    You?

I own only two basses, neither one of which I owned at this time last year.
Custom made medium scale Landing Invader
    Alembic Rogue 5 string

I have bought/sold in 2012; 2 jazz basses, an Alembic Rogue 4 string, a Peavey Fury, Rogue Beatle Bass, and maybe more that I am forgetting..

Nobody is stupid enough to actually pay me to play their gear.
I have been less susceptible to GAS in 2012 as I ordered a Fodera, but still made a few purchases/trades.

    MTD 535 - bought in 2012
Spector Forte 5 - traded for in 2012
    1995 Modulus Quantum 4 - bought in 2012
    1995 Modulus Q5 Sweetspot - pre 2012
    1974 Fender Precision - pre 2012
    1973 Fender Jazz - pre 2012
    1983 Fender American Jazz - pre 2012
Squier Vintage Modified Fretless (relic-ed) - pre 2012
Morgan Monroe acoustic bass guitar - pre 2012

    2013 should even quieter....

    2 Reverend Mercallis
    1 Carvin B50 Pbass
    1 Carvin B25P
    1 Custom

Of these, the Custom and the B25P were here a year ago. My prediction for the year: I'll lose 2 of these. Probably 1 Mercalli and the P bass.

Edit: none of my rig was here last year.

At the start of 2012, I probably had about 15 basses,
It looks like I'm down to just 10 basses. I've been
selling and didn't have any idea how many I had left,

2009 Custom Fretless Hand Built by Local Luthier
    1983 Westone Electra X640N
    1972 Electra Long Necker
    1990's Peavey Fury
    1984 Peavey Patriot
    2000 MIM P bass
    2011 Squier VM P Bass
    2008 Washburn T-14 Fretless
    1966 Japanese Made Kingston
    Fretless Partscaster

    These were bought in 2012,

2009 Custom Fretless Hand Built by Local Luthier
    1972 Electra Long Necker
    2008 Washburn T-14 Fretless
    Unknown P Bass

These basses were bought and sold in 2012,

    Squier VM SS Jag
    1990 Epi Fretless Rock Bass
    1966 Japanese Made Kingston
    2011 Squier Affinity Bronco

I sold at least 10 other basses in 2012.

Fender American Standard Precision 5-string and a Reverend Rumblefish 4-string. That's it. I had four or five basses at various points in 2012, but got rid of everything unnecessary. 2013 could be the first year in a long time I don't buy or sell a bass.

I like how so many people are saying that 2013 will be simpler: less buying, selling, etc. I'm not kidding myself however. I'll still be cruising the classifieds (from both sides). It'll probably be just as busy as the last year. ;)
