Yip.. MK is playing at a big multi-artist charity show in my home city in February, and I've been asked to play in the house band.

As a Knopfler / Straits fan since I was a lad, I'm excited beyond belief.

I'm trying to be cool about it, but it's MK, so... bugger it. :)

Whoah whoah whoah. I've been a fan since I was a kid.
Very few people can bring magic out of instruments.
I'd probably faint before I started playing.

That is so awesome, congratulations. Love all his stuff and played a bunch of it over the years. The Bug is still on our play list and gets one of the biggest audience responses.

Now I can say, "Hey I read a post by a guy on TB who had a gig coming up with Mark Knopfler, and that TB guy even probably read my post, where I said, 'Hey I read a post by a guy on TB...' but I couldn't totally be sure unless he quoted my quoted post and replied, which would be really cool. I'll keep checking to see if he does." :D

Just being funny. DUDE that is AMAZING. Naturally, I would crap my pants and forget which string is E, or which string is the low one, or how to tune with a tuner, etc etc.

    CONGRATS!

Great! Mark, though underrated, is one of the great players IMHO. Enjoy.
