My jazz band is playing On a Clear Day (You Can See Forever). I want to know what keep in mind for my basslines so I am don't to much into the way of the vocalists. Some parts have duplets written and it does call for a walk at one point. Also, my chart has one part that calls for a bassline "in one-broken up", so is this asking for a groove? Thanks for any help?

One note per bar, with maybe the occasional linking or passing note?
