JB vs. MM configuration

    Is the neck coil in the JB configuration closer to the neck than a typical MM pickup neck coil? Obviously, the JB it's like a separated MM pickup, so I wonder how the coils' location compare.

    I think the JB a bit "broader" in location, and as they are totally different designs in pickups, they will sound very different.

    I like both, the JB setup is very mid-forward, and cuts through; the MM is really punchy/aggressive/thick sounding to me.
