I had the King Curtis Fillmore album as a kid, stole a bunch from it.

The Aretha/ King Curtis live at the Filmore albums are some of the most badass ensemble playing you'll ever hear. I buy that album for people all the time- any musician or singer friend who has a birthday, that's my go- to gift.

Jerry Jemmott has become my favorite of the Sixties/Seventies "boogaloo" style of bassists. I dig his Jazz Bass tone. I also love the fact that he helped me understand where Jaco came from. I remember Jaco sounding almost like a space alien when I first heard him in 1976 or so. After checking out Jemmott, I can really see Jaco's R&B roots much more clearly.:bassist:
