This bass started its life in 2002 as Skyline Bob Glaub with jazz (1.5") neck and standard P pickups.

An original Fred Hammon Darkstar pickup installed by a pro luthier under direction of the previous owner. Thus, the bass is routed for either standard split P or Darkstar.

    This combination is quite unique.
Darkstar P's are rare. Even more rare is to find one on a Skyline Glaub with a jazz neck in Burst.

The bass looks nearly identical to the US Lakland bass that John Sirratt from Wilco plays on stage.

This bass weighs 8 lbs 7.5 oz and is in excellent shape for a 12 year old bass. There are some small dings and wear marks here there but nothing major that goes into the wood.

I have done the "Carl Pedigo" neck treatment (sanded off the original finish to a super smoothness, applied orange oil, then Howards Feed & Wax, then steel wool). Neck now feels like a million bucks, much like a US Lakland (although without the carbon reinforcement and price tag).

Comes strung with well broken in Sadowsky flatwound strings, Dunlop strap locks, and a Fender tweed hard case.
Asking $1300 OBO shipped within North America. Will not ship outside of North America, sorry (but will ship to Canada or Mexico). Not interested in trades on this one, trade ideas will be politely ignored.

OK, enough chatter, on to the pics:

This is the ultimate skyline. The build year, the neck treatment, the pickup... Amazing. GLWTS, the new owner will be very happy.

as to a sound clip of this exact bass, I do not have one.
However, if you want to get a sense of the Darkstar pickup, I made this recording for the 2012 LOG CD with a DPLEII. This bass sounds exactly the same as that one, same Sadowsky strings, etc.

If I had a bucket list of basses, this would be right near the top. If I sell my Kubicki before this is gone, I don't know if I'll be able to resist.
    GLWTS, I guess... ;)
