Any pointers to new or used lefty hollow or semi hollow? Up to around $1,000, hopefully along the lines of the lines of the Jack Casady model. I am not interested in the "violin" style. Thanks in advance.

How about one of these? '90s Korean Danelectro DC Pro. I like mine a lot. :)

Yes! This was going to be my suggestion. I used to have one, and the tone is phenomenal. Chris DiPinto and his wife are lefties, so he makes a real effort to make lefty models available throughout the lineup.

This is a lefty semi-hollow made here in Austin by a friend. If you saved a bit more money than your stated maximum price....
Hand made, no extra $$ for left-handed, and no one else will have a bass like yours
I could go on about this one for a while.
