So, I went to Montreal for a party last night, and on my way home stopped in at a local music store today, and this baby "followed" me home, hehehe... autographed by GOD himself! ;)

I installed some NOS Mullard preamp tubes, and she sounds VERY similar to my vintage Super Bass amps.

Being the HUGE Motorhead fan that I am, it's surprising that it took me this long to snag one. :D

    Cheers!

Hey Rob, that is a super head. Would love to hear that in person. So, on that note: Head up north brother, The Sault would love to hear you!

p.s. I volunteer to sub for you at soundcheck so you can walk the venue (most likely the Canadian..)

    Nice amp!
Curious as to how much different that head sounds in comparison to your VBA400?

    Thanks,

B-B-B-B-B-but now you need more cabs... just to balance it out with the other stacks
    :D

Have you notified the local seismic monitoring stations?
IIRC that puts you at ~ 1200 all tube watts, and, what, 4x15, 12x12's?

The VBAs sound quite a bit different than any of my Super Bass amps. The VBAs have a bit more of an SVT vibe going on. They put out a lot more bottom end, I can set them up to be extremely loud and clean whereas the SBs (and the Lemmy head) have a very classic Marshall mid grind, and the louder they go, the crunchier they get. My SBs run EL-34 power tubes, and my VBAs run 6550A power tubes. The VBAs are also a master volume/preamp gain circuit, where the SBs are non-MV.

    Cheers!

Hmmm... let's do the math heheh...

    4x 100w (400) + 2x 400w (800) + 1x 50w (50) = 1250 all-tube watts

    2x 2x15 cabs = 4x 15s
    9x 4x12 cabs = 36x 12s

If everything was all run together, I think I might demolish the house! :D

And as nuts as it sounds, I AM looking for another VBC412, and you're correct, I'll have to get a couple of cabs to go with the Lemmy head now, too. :p G.A.S. ... I have it BAD!!

    Cheers!

I think the HAARP scientists will be paying you a visit very soon...

Or maybe the local demolition contractor. Speaking of contractors, have you reinforced the live-load on the floor of the gear room yet? That's well over 1000 Lbs- it's gotta be
I estimating close to 400 Lbs just in iron!

    Color me jealous.
