I will. Thanks. I know they were a limited run, so getting tougher to come by.

    Did you find one?

I have one of the honey burst ones and love it. So far I've only see one for sale used and it was on eBay. It seems the black ones are much easier to come by.

I cannot understand why this bass didn't take off. They play and sound fantastic and being set neck rather than the bolt on neck of the originals they are a step up. They also have unique pickups which are terrific.

    Hope you've found one!

    I tried a honeyburst reissue...kinda cool, but not really the same...wound up getting an 82 G3 for a great price...very happy I did :)

Nice bass! True, the new G-3s were not the same as the old ones but should be looked at as more of a descendent as if Gibson had continued producing them. I think they are great and a friend of mine loves it but he also referred to the original G-3s as Gibson's secret weapon.

To be fair the reissues play really well. I'll never know why vintage G3's aren't more popular. Punchiest, aggressive sounding basses ever. Kinda combines what I like about Rics, Pbasses and Gibson basses all in one bass.
