Looking to get a certain tone

    I can't really describe the tone well enough so here's link to the song haha the bass is pretty clear, i use a Greg Bennett Fairlane series and looking to get a new amp but im not sure what to get for that tone, Thanks!

    Well that bassist is using a Fender P bass through an Orange amps head, played with a pick, with a bit of distortion on top. Your fairlane has a different type of pickup, but you should be able to get close.

    Roll to the front pickup on your bass, play with a pick, cut your mids, boost your lows and your highs a bit, then add some distortion to the top and you will have it.

    It sounds like for that recording they used two channels for bass, one clean and one distorted. This let them keep the low end full and detailed but still get that top end grind.
