I acquired a passive affinity jazz bass v/v/t 3 Nob cheap $50.. I like the neck and the sound but my issue is: I get no sound from the neck or bridge pups until they are on full..
Can this be fixed by upgrading the pots?? Capacitor??
Any info would be great thanks...
I plan to install new pups maybe even a pre, but I do like the tone this bass has as is.. I'd like to fix this issue and then maybe look into other options..

The pots could be of a higher value than is appropriate for the signal impedance. This would cause a relatively high series resistance between the pickups and output, as the volume pots are rolled down. However, this would also mean that the tone control should have little to no effect until it is rolled most of the way down.

In any case, check the pot values and tapers, as well as the wiring.
