Ordered a 46 from Mike Arnopol here's some info on the cab.

    From Mike.

Now that I'm feeling good about the 10" based cabs I've redone the 46 and am very happy.

Jerry at Eminence designed some new drivers that have stronger mids and also extended lows. We decided to try Faital's 3" cone drivers. They're pretty amazing--response down to 100hz and past 15k. The crossover is all Duke. The speaker is near flat (+-3db) from 300 to 15khz.

    The sound---
This cab goes lower than any of our bass cabs. I think that the 10"cabs are a bit punchier but the 46 is no slouch. You can't hear the crossover. It has that "paper cone sound" from top to bottom. This cab is super neutral in sound---the lows have just a bit of the MVW warmth but not too much.. The 10" cabs have a bit more "zing" on top (above 10k) but if you dial up the treble one notch you're pretty much there. I think that it's the most natural and uncolored speaker we have.

It goes about the same volume as the 110's. The Flex cabs are punchier and more up-front in their presentation---not in a bad way, though. The 45/110's while not being as aggressive as the Flex's still have a slightly forward mids presentation. The 46 is the most neutral. The MVW's take eq really well so if you goose the mids up a bit youre in line with the 10" based cabs.

The new 46 has less of an upper bass bump and MUCH better mids than the original 46. I really like it.

    25 x 15 1/2 by 13 deep.

    It'll keep up with a 15 or 410.

Weight went up 2 pounds to 43#.

I'm looking forward to the 46. I ordered it in red.

I'm thinking that Mike and Sheldon Dingwall are brothers from different mothers. Neither stops in the pursuit of improvement and refinements of their products!

Mike is very adamant about doing the best he can, including updating my 1st gen(?) 26's to spec.

The newest ones will have three 3"ers and one Ciare tweet. The threes wil have no problem with the power and the Ciare makes it REALLY full range.

I'm also doing a 66 with four Faital 3's and one Ciare tweet. Think of a 610.
