I am a new TBer and little did I think the first pedal I ever owned, the DOD Meatbox would be a highly sought-after pedal. After scouring these forums I am now in a pickle. I may keep it, but because I want other pedals I may use it as trade bait... Realistically, what is this pedal worth?

the last two on ebay actually sold for $150-$165.
IMO, the guys asking $250-300 are dreaming and they just keep relisting them since no one buys them for that much.

Yeah seemed a little pricey, I was planning like $200 or a good trade

I've owned them, bought and sold them in the $200 range but as either trade bait or a straight-up sale, now is a really good time to dump em. especially with a few new subs coming out in the next year or so, and a few that are out already (plus rumors that dod is reissuing the Meat)

All that being said though, it IS one of the best bass effects ever

I have the beef bag clone made by mantic effects. It was 200 new so I would say the original would be worth the same. All the knobs all full rips apart PA systems. And will blow speakers.

    Like I did :-(

I would sell it ASAP because i believe they are about to reissue them and the value will likely plummet soon. Personally id sell it and buy a new bass whammy. Aside from whammy pitch bends normally associated with Tool basslines, you can use a whammy pedal for other things. They are cool to somewhat simulate and 8 string bass. They are cool for extended the lower range of the bass. I have a whammy IV and never mess with the expression pedal. I always use it on an octave harmony or the full step or octave down whammy setting. The new bass whammy having the 4th down whammy is a dream come true for me. If you listen to the demo on YouTube of the new bass whammy it sound really good. The idea that you could hit a pedal and instantly change your basses tuning from eadg to bead is appealing. I will probably tune my 7 string back up to beadgcf when i get it

Not the same, don't care how good the bass whammy is (and I will be buying one) nothing does lows like a Meatbox or clone
