David Minniweather was a very talented NW luthier who passed several years ago. These appear to my eye as early examples of his work (I could be very wrong) but certainly worth more than the asking price. Here is a link to the 4 string, the 5 can be found on the Bass NW site. Wish I had the cash!

The 4 has been sold. I know because I bought it! I thought I'd check out articles related to Minnieweather basses here and this listing was the first entry from the search.

Prior to buying the bass I did search and found David Minnieweather had passed away on September 15, 2009 (http://www.bass-builders.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31429&sid=48cb993c6f9a4fb42043607c1500b9ae) and at the same site I saw and was very impressed by his work. I also read the memoriam (http://www.luth.org/memoriams/mem_david-minnieweather.html) and saw his YouTube video ().

If anyone has any information about the probable age of the bass or any other information, I'd appreciate it.

Congrats on the 4, very nice piece! David King might be able to narrow down the details on the bass. After DM's passing he actually finished a few builds that were in progress and probably knows DM's work as well as anyone.
