Got this last April, love the way it plays, and sounds, but I never got to liking the color much.Medallion Gold I think is what EB calls it. The bass is in mint condition, not even the obligatory headstock ding Bongos are notorious for. What I would prefer to do is trade it for another Bongo 5 fretless of a different color. Could be HS or H configuration, and doesn't have to the piezo option. But it has to be an unlined fretless. Only looking for trades right now.

If you like it that much, just get it painted.Go to the Marty Bell site and check out what he does, everything to wicked sparkle and candy colors to more traditional colors, cool stuff!

you know-you have a unique bird there-with piezo too.
medallion gold is rare as hell and pretty too.
I suspect there aren't a lot of these running around out there.
    free bump -bongos rule!

Its unique allright. I thought I would warm up to the color, but havent yet. If it were any other color,I'd probably hang on to it. Still available.

Almost can't believe I'd even ask, but...

Any interest in a sunburst fretless G&L L2500 (unlined ebony), or a black '94 Stingray 5 (unlined Pau Ferro)? The Stingray5 is on the heavy side, but it plays and sounds absolutely incredible, and has a nicely figured neck. I can get you pics later this evening.

Sorry to sidetrack (but at least it's a free bump), but what is this notorious headstock ding you speak of (note to potential buyers: OPs bongo isnt dinged, mine is) ? I ask because I recently purchased a bongo with a chip in the headstock, right under the tip on the treble side. Is this common?

That is a very nice bongo btw, but I understand you wanting to go H or HS. That neck humbucker on mine is pretty nice, but I think I'd prefer a more focused single coil in that position as well.

I have a MIA 2013 Fender Deluxe V bass in excellent condition. I bought it brand new in October of last year and I have it posted here in the classifieds right now. I saw that you might be interested in some trades. Check it out and let me know if it interest you. I have been considering trades on 5 & 6 string fretless basses but I'm not %100 on the idea. I really don't know much about the E.B. fretless Bongo basses but if you like the Fender that I have lets talk. Anyways GLWTS

Typically the Bongo headstocks get chipped right at the tip,or just below the tip of the headstock. Yours fits that category. Still available until Friday, then back it goes.

Thanks, it's good to know that this is somewhat typical in case I ever decide to sell.

Good luck with your sale, I know you're not a fan of the finish, but I think it's a gorgeous bass and I love the bongo tone in general. Whoever ends up with this will be extremely happy.
