Must be in a parallel universe someone noticed the bass player!

    So we're doing a casino gig about a month ago and a female actually gave me the thumbs up and said "Great job bass man!" Needless to say I was in shock and disbelief :eek:

    I immediately thought there was some sort of tear in the space-time continuum and thought I was on Mars or something because that NEVER happens. Went to talk to her after the show and she said she used to date a bass player and knew all about how we get overlooked and not noticed. I humbly thanked her and said she made my day and I really appreciate it. Just wish it would happen more often. :meh:

    Sorry. That was me. I farted. Every time I do a star is either born or goes supernoava. Sometimes space-time ruptures. I can't control it.

    First few bands, just played bass... Never got a kind word.
    Down the road a way when I started singing and occasionally playing rhythm guitar (on the songs I couldn't play bass and sing on) for a few songs. Started getting audience Kudos then.

    Unfortunately she wasn't available and for some reason I'm not allowed to sing lead in this band so it was nice to get a compliment and just to get noticed for once. The lion's share of attention in this band goes to the others mostly the female singer and the blind drummer. There's been many times people don't even realize that I'm part of the band. :(

    I have bass player's disease so badly that people regularly walk right into me at the supermarket. Totally invisible.

    I should work for the CIA. I'd never be detected by anyone.

    Instead of wearing camo while hunting, I just put on my jazz bass. Its not uncommon for deer to walk right into me.

    It seems more people are recognizing the bass player. I actually get a lot of compliments at gigs. At a recent casino gig several people asked me for a pick. I am a finger player so I took pictures with them and gave them each one of the guitarist's picks. Then I ordered picks with the band's name on them so I will have something to give away in the future.

    I once had a woman come up to me and say "way to spank that thing." It would have been a whole lot more fun if there hadn't been too many witnesses for me to go the logical next step.

    The legend about unsung bass players is always fun but I can't say I ever got unnoticed in the band.

    Yeah, its weird when it happens, but they're out there. My friend's ex is a fan and was always able to beat me in trivia - her dad was a fan and raised her to them. The strangest part was that she was actually attractive too...
