OK, I think I scored a major coup. :hyper: I've been in the market for a back-up bass for a while, and I've had to pass on a couple used basses I've found on CL for one reason or another. I kept telling myself that I missed those other opportunities because something better was bound to show up.

    Today it did.

I bought a Washburn Force ABT for $120.00 from a private seller on CL. I thought the electronics might have been wonky on it, but fortunately I was wrong.

All I did to it is replace the set screws on the bridge, replaced the battery, added Dunlop Strap Locks, added new DR Nickel Lo-Riders, and cleaned the dickens out of it.

The thing plays like a dream! The action is good but needs a slight truss rod adjustment, the intonation is almost dead-on, and the sound is amazing! It's also a LOT more forgiving when fretting notes, and I don't have to be nearly as careful in order to avoid fret buzz. I'd say the neck is like a cross between a Fender P bass and a jazz bass. It's not as fast as my other bass, but I imagine I'll get used to it. It doesn't have that classic Fender "growl" that I like, but hey, that's why we get more than one bass right?

This thing may become my primary player!

I think that's the sexiest $120 bass score I've ever seen.
    Congrats!

    Awesome score.

Yet, I can't help but to comment on how interesting it sitll is to me how people's tastes differ. IMO, that would be at the top of my list of least sexy basses :).

When I think sexy, I think more along these lines:

Not trying to diss your bass. I'd be happy if I scored that at the price you did, and would have bought it too. Just entertained by your description.

Contrats, and best of luck with it.

Here's the difference in our thinking- when I look at that bass you referenced, I think of this:

When I look at my bass, I think of this:

Both are sexy, just in different ways!
