So today is a holiday here in the DR, so I decided to clean all my basses and take a family picture. In case you can't tell, I love ibanezes from the 70s.

I've posted them a couple of times, I'm proud to have them and have spent some 8 years tracking all of them down...

NICE! I particularly dig on the Gibby rips. :D

    Awesome.

Is this why Ibanez doesn't do anything too too traditional? The ATK is very Stingray, but more an inspiration than a copy. I'd love Ibanez to start making J and P format guitars again, even built around the ATK body.

I used to own a 6/12 double neck, a 6/4 double neck and the Firebird V copy. Man I miss them. Especially the 6/4.

I see my (former) Thunderbird and a familiar garage door! Glad to see it's gone to a wonderful home.
Beautiful basses all, great collection you have there.

Yeah it really is a nice bass. I've used it live a couple of times and my friend recorded with it and loves its tone.

Wow! It's a wonder Ibanez wasn't asked to close its doors with all of those blatant copies. Those are some very cool basses sir!

Cool collection, but no lawsuit-era DESTROYER? You need one to complete the collection:

There was one on ebay for 1000USD a while ago. I need an sg, the flying V and destroyer. There was also a nice les paul recording bass over listed at guitar center vintage online. I'm broke from buying my framus though. But in due time, they shall come.

    Awesome collection.

I recently acquired the No. 2376 model with the teak top here on TB and it has supplanted a few othe rmuch more expensive basses in my arsenal as my #1. It's the brightest and growliest jazz bass I or any of my cohorts have ever heard.

Geez, $1K? Admittedly it's a really nice looking bass. Still, $1K? There are some Gibsons that sell for a little less than that.

    Keep up the slick collection!

Lawsuits rule. Not the lawsuit basses. The lawsuits themselves... I'm being contrarian for fun, but that '78-81 Studio ST924 (I have the bolt on mapleneck version, an '81 RS924-- the Roadster) at the bottom of the photos represents Ibanez striking out in their own direction. Like with the MC924. And the SR series that grew out of that MC a few years later. Ibanez basses became their own phenomenon and enriched the bass player world, even more than their electric guitars (JEM fans aside).

Crazy nice collection. They seemed to have aged rather well. Thanks for sharing.
