Why are the Shuttle 9.2 amps still so expensive?

Much more versatile, IMO - I'd still rate the ShuttleMax 9.2 as one of the best bass amps ever made...

versatile...hm. I am not being sarcastic. of course I can understand it can be plain and simple better amp (I am notMarkBass rep) For me,I've never heard anything in that category good as Mark. Would love to hear GB very much! cheers!

I own ShuttleMax 9.2 and have owned LittleMark II. There is really no comparison as far as versatility goes. ShuttleMax has two switchable channels, each with bass, treble and two semi-parametric mids, so obviously Genz has a clear advantage.
Sound is completely subjective thing, but Mark is warmer, and while ShuttleMax can get near, it can do a lot more than that.

Not to say Markbass is bad, because I would love to have it again, but with the variety of different projects I'm working in, the ShuttleMax is a chameleon I need.

So in other words Genzler took a job at Sizzler. No new stuff from him.

Well said, the Mark does one thing and does it very well whereas the GB is more versatile where you can't quite get the warmth of the Mark but you have a wide range of tone from a good warm tone to a very nice modern tone which lends itself from finger style to a nice slap style with a click of a foot switch.

I am not an endorsing artist for GB nor have I ever been one but I own four of their amps. GBE600, Shuttle 6.0, ShuttleMax 12.0 and the Streamliner 900. I have been contemplating snagging one of the 6.2 for $399.

If those 399$ Shuttles shipped to Canada, I would grab one.

I know. These prices are driving me crazy but I'm between jobs right now and already own 4 amps. I hope I land something soon because I want to buy a Contour combo and a 6.2 head!! The Focus 115 cabs are going for 285 bucks also!

The 9.2 is in another price range so it's not really a fair comparison. ;)
But yeah it's got a LOT more going on as far as features and versatility.

Yes, you are right - ordinary Shuttle 6/9.2 vs Little Mark is a fair comparison.

Fender is releasing an amp under the new name "Genderz Amplification". It will be the first Class D Mega Watt amp. In their promotion of safe amplification they will be offering chrome plated tube condoms as standard equipment for impregnating their tone.
