Hot damn that's tasty.
Well, I really enjoyed that...and clearly the guys in the video did too!
But y'know what I would've loved to have heard, especially in the context of a "Nathan East Bass Lessons Dot Com presents The One-Chord Challenge"?
Twenty minutes on A -- or, heck, just 7:48 on A, like that video -- where instead of trading solos and licks and basically having the bass be the focus for a good portion of the tune, do twenty minutes on A where the bass is *just* supporting the band...providing the foundation, being the rock, grooving the piss outta that one chord but *not* soloing or grabbing the spotlight.
...cuz that's a hell of a lot harder imho.
Sweet! Lots of good licks and tips in there.
I haven't listened to the clip yet, but I know that playing a simple groove well in a way that is both interesting while not overpowering the song is a great skill that far fewer have than we realize.
My thought exactly. The video was cool, but I didn't learn how to support a 20 minutes long vamp.
That was sweet, I love that kind of thing.
that was awesome!
Great concept, never mind the dozens of licks just waiting to be copped.
Could watch that over and over. Thanks for a great post!
He just too goofy
