Ordered in September of 2013. Just got it in today. here is the thread that was following the build http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/my-2nd-dp-custom-bass-build-order-1023636/

The nordstrand electronics are great. the passive and active tones are fantastic. i started trying to dive fully into the electronics and it made my head hurt. too much versatility in a little package! enjoy, it's a beauty. can't wait to play this thing out...

pardon the gravity defying pics...i can't seem to remedy it...

love it!!!!!!!!!! looks sweet . Looks like Dave has stepped his game up some. I have 3 older DP's\. is that his scroll design or did you tweak it a little.

i think he has tweaked the upper horn a bit from his earlier scrolls, at least to my eye.

a few minor finish things but well worth the money, to me at least. he does great work, and they just sound sooo nice.

    That looks stellar!

mjac28 - Looks like it has the option to do strings through or traditional for each string.

Looks great man. It looks like he has really put time into getting better as a builder. Many of his early builds were pretty questionable but this looks really nice.

Great tone, good playability. Took some time to get it set to my liking, but it's there now with the medium elixir strings. Came with a crazy low action, light ken smith strings (not a fan). Wasn't my cup of tea.

Dave also doesn't shield pickup cavities, which these nordy's needed, so i had to do that, as opposed to shipping back to him. Silent operation now.

Great bass. Very comfortable on a strap. The small fit and finish items are still there, but i knew that going in. All in all, happy. With the 2nd daughter being born, priorities have shifted, and I'm questioning my need for this many nice instruments for playing once a week at church. So i guess i have some buyers remorse, but not due to the bass, but more to circumstances.

Overall, I am pleased with it. Loving it more with time, as the tone is fantastic.
