Stuck out of town until late tonight but my new Fender American Select Precision bass just got delivered. So freaking stoked! Got it on Ebay new for a little under $1200 which seems like a heck of a deal to me. Review to come!

You know the deal... you have no bass in the eyes of TB.

    Hey OP.

I fear for your safety. You were stuck in a blizzard over 24 hours ago and we haven't heard from you since. You baited us with news of a recently acquired piece of art, then you fell off. I sincerely hope the bass is somewhere safe if your frozen body is found in a half melted snow drift next month.

Please let us know the bass is safe.

Bass and me are safe! Have had problems uploading pics from my phone but it's freaking glorious. Hard to put into words how beautiful and smooth it is. First full jam yesterday and everyone loved the look and the unique pickups. Neck is flat out butter.

Congrats! Great deal on a great bass. Sadly, I paid almost full price on mine (new at a local store) in 2012. I had no idea the prices for used ones would be so much lower. But what the heck. They're fabulous P-Basses.

Sweet! Are you going to try a different pickguard? I think black would look great!

I agree. I've always thought that a B/W/B pickguard would be the best for these Select P's. And white pearloid for the Select Jazzes.

Nope. The same model is on Fender's website now. When I bought mine in 2012, I remember they claimed they'd do a different Select every year so each run would be unique, but of course they reneged. Kind of like the way they ballyhooed the uniqueness of the butterscotch color of the 50th anniversary P-Bass, then turned around and made it a standard color the following year.
