Well, after having desired it for soooo long, here it is! Directly from China, Anderton's (UK) to home (Italy):

Fit and finish are perfect. Setup was excellent (medium action, slight relief) right out of the box, despite the long trip. Heavy as hell: 4,5 kg!!! Versatile and lots of aggressive tones: that's definitely a rocker. Love this bass!!! Fretjob is quite perfect.

Beautiful body color (aged cherryburst) and neck painted in a breath taking aged vintage amber.

As you can imagine, pics don't do justice: the external edge is much darker than it seems on these hurry photos and the wood grain is really to die for!!

What I don't like? I would have liked much better 1) the lollipop tuners, 2) the black face headstock and 3) the original design bridge. But this is just nitpicking: the bass is really marvelous "in flesh" as it is anyway, with good rest of all the naysayers!!!

    ;)

    Very nice.

I get the impression you like hollowbody basses.

yes, man: you can't imagine how happy I am! I could never dream enough about Fender re-editing this bass, but in the end it seems they are starting paying attention to the player's inputs and try to be a bit more aggressive on the market than ever, lately...

"1 th": action at first string (frets 1 and 12); "6 th": action at sixt string (frets 1 and 12). Now that you make me note that, I think I must just return this to Anderton's, since missing not just one but two (!) strings!!!

    Congratulations!

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine for so many years. I want to add my items to your, "What I don't like" list, which is also nitpicking because your bass is beautiful.

    1) The "F" on the tailpiece should be white.
    2) The PG originally only came on guitars, and looks weird to me on the bass.

Wow a semi-hollow body bass that is too heavy? Surprising

The "f" actually is cut, so that you can see the chrome below. Pickguard; I don't mind. But yes: they could just provide it apart, then if you want you will install it...

It is not hollow: inside it has a beefy wood chunk. Actually it is a solid body with chambers beside. While the original was hollow. Btw: 10 lbs on bathroom scale!

yep! And it plays really good too; that doesn't hurt! :). Excellent care for the details, playability and versatility with the comfy short scale. A real old school Fender with 21 frets instead than 20!!!

Don't just be intrigued: buy one until they sell'em! You never know with Fender! Just think of the Roscoe Beck!

Congrats on a new cool looking bass!

10 lbs is as much a GAS killer as my empty wallet. It IS cool though! Congrats again.
