Well, after an unfortunate address hiccup, it's finally here:

More pictures later. It's a beaut; can't wait to gig with it.

Awesome-- I love Yamaha BBs. I’ve got the cheaper BB415, and I love it.

Nice P-5 ya got there, too.

"She" insisted on being in the photo too. My first serious bass was a BB400, about 30 years ago.

Played a vintage white BB425x in a store a few months back and couldn't let go of it. Fantastic, incredible instruments. Congratulations!

Hey, that's interesting. I've just noticed that the 1025x doesn't have the funky extended bridge section for the B string like the 425x does. I wonder why that is? Both are 24", both are string-thru.

I finally got to gig with it last week and man it simply rocks!

I used it for a couple of practices beforehand (with my amp and four tens) and was beginning to get concerned about the tone, but for the gig I added the one 18 and oh my goodness it really puts out the bottom end like no other bass I've ever owned. And it's a super-clean sound, not muddy at all...Yamaha really did a great job voicing the p/j config.

It also feels like a serious bass in my hands, too...best one I've ever owned. Can't imagine ever having GAS again, though I won't presume no more future yearnings.

The BBs are KILLER gig basses. I have the BB425 and it gets lots of compliments on the sound. At one gig the sound guy was a bassist, and pre-show was telling me all about his Warwick Thumb 5 (admittedly, awesome sounding basses). Post-show he couldn't stop talking about the sound of my Yammy and said he was going to have to pick one up :bassist:

Love me them BBs. Someone's going to have to pry my 415 from my cold, dead fingers someday.
