Today I got to pick up two new cabs from Dave Homer at Gigmaster Soundworks. Mirrored fEARful alphalite 12/6/1's. I have a 1515/66/1, but this is my, "'66 lite" rig. While a single woofer cab is pretty fantastic, and would cover 90% of most bassist's needs, there is a certain magic in a dual woofer set up. The 12/6/1's are tonally identical to my big cab, but I think a pair of alpha 12/6's is the sweet spot in terms of volume/size/weight/overall capability in the fEARful line. These cabs thunder. Even with my "low powered" PF-500 I get really beefy loud bass. Toss something a little bigger on top, and these little cabs can get scary! Here is a pic in Dave's shop. Can really see the color. Vertical with the PF-500 on top. Carvin B1500. ART+Crest ProLite 3.0 on a "wide" stack. The Classic 400 on top. The amp actually weighs more than both of the cabs together. Single cab, practice rig. Portaflex settings.
