need wiring schematic

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by unclebass, Dec 20, 2012.

  1. I have a Fender Blacktop Jazz Bass and am having problems. Bridge pickup is very strong, neck pickup can only be heard if bridge pickup is completely off. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this particular bass? It is wired with yellow leads going to each individual volume pot, but both red leads are soldered to bridge pot, do not know if this is right. This wiring does not match standard jazz wiring diagram. Can't get any info from Fender on this, wondering if anyone else can give me any leads to help me solve this problem. I am desperately trying to figure this out without taking it in to repair shop. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Make sure both volume pots are of the same value (250K). You can check with a volt ohm meter. I bought an analog one for $10. Of course, the digital ones are nicer but it's your choice.
  4. found resistance problem at one of connections at the pickup. all other wiring was fine.
