RIP. A courageous man of conviction.
It's impossible to travel around South Africa and not be constantly reminded of Mandela's role in shaping a new nation out of one at war with itself.
They will be grieving more there than anywhere else, but celebrating his life as well.
The world has lost one of it's most inspirational citizens.
RIP . A great man. I spent three months in Cape Town in 2010, I had the opportunity not only of visiting Robben Island but I also walked on the beaches that were forbidden for the black people but thanks to Nelson now they are open to everybody.
RIP. The passing of a legend. Go in peace oh great one.
the world needs more like him. RIP, Nelson

Also, another applicable U2 song:
The world lost one of it's greatest men today.
I remember watching him on a live TV news broadcast in 1990, walking out of Victor Verster Prison. I think it was CNN.
But yet to come was even more remarkable. You'd think after 27 years of imprisonment like that he'd be justified in being angry, bitter, resentful, and vengeful. He exhibited none of that, only grace and conciliation. What strength! The blood and souls of many chipped away at apartheid, but this man's noble spirit broke it down for good.
I'm a big rugby fan, but this was defining on so many levels and showed the great power of forgiveness he held.
Very, very sad.
How ironic that the 'celebrity death' thread is still going.
Anyone who doesn't have a little heaviness in their heart at this news has no heart at all.
R.I.P. Mr. Mandela. Long live your cause.
Peace, brother to us all.
He's even on the front page of ESPN.com. Such a cool guy.
I get chills just looking at that pic. Time to watch Invictus tonight.
Rest in peace. Job well done. You left this place much better than you found it.
