    Disclosures:
    Sales: Gerg's Music
If I had a bass with soap bars I'd be all over these. I'm so thrilled with my p/j set.

Ill have to look at the dimensions and see if I can router one of my basses to have them fit

I recently modded my Cort GB75 with a Glockenklang preamp. I may get the neck pickup routed for a super single and a new pickguard.

They will need fairy dust to compete against Nordstrand's lineup

Anybody compare these with Nordy Big Singles yet?

I'm really interested in seeing how the Super Singles sound. If they sound like the Nordstrand Big Singles, then I'm not interested. I want a pickup that fits into my six string P4-shape routing that actually has the original single-coil bark. So far, only EMG comes close to it but those don't come in the P4 shape.

While this is true, Nordstrand's Big Singles don't have that traditional single-coil bark and snap. They only have a hint of it. That was my issue with the Big Singles.

I hope the Aguilar Super Singles can faithfully reproduce the traditional single-coil sound.

    This would be cool actually!

My Bass originally had Big Singles and because my ear is more tuned in Jazz basses to have as you said bark and snap, I asked the Nordy guys about it and they made me a set of single coils and fitted them into the bigger soap bar cases. They sound great! Since I also set up a solderless plug set up with them, I can now swap out other same size pick ups.. Maybe I'll try this one day with these Supers.... :)

Nice! Was it expensive to have this done? Also, what about pickup noise? The only single-coils that I know that are dead quiet are EMGs.

I don't recall the price, but most pickup companies won't up charge a lot for something like this because they have the parts and know how.
No pickup noise at all :). Only get the usual 60 cycle hum when I touch a pole piece and string at the same time (my sloppy technique), as with all my jazz basses.

  14. Im interested in a set of these for my Spector Euro 5

Then check this video out. First audio samples I've seen for these pickups.

Makes me all the more pumped about them!!!

I just saw the video. I think the pickups sound pretty good. I think they would sound better with a tone control.

  20. I think they would sound better tested by someone who doesn't try to make every bass sound like Marcus Miller.
