I am planning on making my own version of a wal bass with similar body style and electronics. It will look something like the attached picture but will have a walnut body with a curly maple facing. I researched the secrets of wal electronics and found a preamp and pickup that would be pretty close. The preamp is a ACG EQ 01 I believe and the pickups are Delano MC 5 HE/M2 music man stlye pickups. Wal electronics are filter based and have low pass filters. This is key for their unique sound. The acg preamp I found has exactly that and should be close to the wal. Also the pups in a wal have separate coils for each pole. Those delano music man pups have four separare coils and should work great!

So far I have done solidworks models for the neck and body and started mastercam files for the neck and body. Let me know what you guys think!

    Looks good so far. :)

How are you planning on indexing the body blank to get the front and back milling operations to line up? Or are you doing that manually? (Assuming you are going to cut this with a CNC judging by the cam files)

On the first side there is a toolpath that cuts 4 .25 holes in the corners. Im going to use .25 rods and line it up on the bed when I flip it. Im doing the same with the neck as well.
